Writing for Purpose
Originally from Birmingham, Ala., Greene graduated from Auburn University with a B.A. in political science. He began his career working in nonprofit development at United Way. He then worked in student services at Troy University before transitioning to graduate school at Auburn University, earning a Master of Public Administration/Public Policy. For ten years he served in state and local government, gaining skills in regional planning, public policy, grant writing, public information, editing, and media relations.
From 2019-21 he taught U.S. history and personal finance at a public high school in Colorado Springs. He enjoyed teaching high school students but wanted to teach college writing. In 2021 Greene was accepted into the English Department's GTA program at Kennesaw State. He is pursuing an MA in Professional Writing (MAPW), has served in the KSU Writing Center for 3 semesters, and currently teaches English 1101 and 1102. Career goals include serving in a writing center and/or teaching English composition. Greene loves acoustic music and is a past board member of Sundilla Concert Series in Auburn and currently manages its Instagram page. When not hiking or playing acoustic guitar, he likes to read and write creative nonfiction.
